Wild Map Tracker is built to help people explore wildlife sightings, not to collect more information than we need. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it in plain language.

What we collect

We collect your account email address so you can sign in and keep your wildlife activity connected to your account.

If you use the radar scan feature, the app temporarily accesses your GPS or location data so it can show sightings near you.

We also collect basic usage analytics, such as how people move through the app, what features are used, and crash reports. We use Firebase tools for this.

Photos are only collected when you choose to upload one while logging a sighting. If you do not upload a photo, we do not collect one.

How we use it

We use this information to run the core parts of Wild Map Tracker, including radar scan, your sighting log, and your bucket list.

We also use analytics and crash information to improve reliability, fix bugs, and make the app perform better.

If you upload a sighting photo, we store it so it can appear in your own sighting log inside the app.

Third-party services

Wild Map Tracker uses Firebase, a Google service, for authentication, database storage, analytics, and file storage. That means some data is processed through Google’s systems and handled according to Google’s privacy terms.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

Location data

Your location is used only in the app when you choose to use the radar scan feature. It helps the app show relevant wildlife activity near you.

We do not permanently store that location data, and we do not share it with other users or outside parties.

Photos

Photos are uploaded only when you take a clear action to add one to a sighting. They are stored securely in Firebase Storage.

We do not use your photos for advertising, training, or any purpose beyond displaying them in your own sighting log.

Your rights

If you want your account and associated data deleted, you can request that by contacting support. We will use that request to remove the account information we control and any related stored data connected to it.

Contact

If you have privacy questions or want to request deletion, contact us at privacy@wildmaptracker.com.

Governing law

This privacy policy is governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.

We may update this page from time to time if the app changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of the page.
