Terms
Terms of Service
These terms explain the basic rules for using Wild Map Tracker. We have written them in clear language so you know what to expect from the app and what we expect from users.
Acceptance
By using Wild Map Tracker, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What the app does
Wild Map Tracker is a wildlife sighting discovery and logging platform. It helps users explore recent wildlife activity, track personal sightings, and build a bucket list of species they want to find.
Some sighting information shown in the app comes from third-party sources including eBird and iNaturalist.
User accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for any activity that happens under your account.
If you believe your account has been accessed without permission, contact us as soon as possible.
User-uploaded content
If you upload a photo to your sighting log, you confirm that you own that photo or have the right to use and upload it.
Wild Map Tracker stores uploaded photos only so they can be displayed within your personal sighting log. We do not claim ownership of your photos.
Acceptable use
You may not use Wild Map Tracker to spam other users, submit false sightings with the intent to mislead, or scrape data from the platform.
We may limit or suspend access if we believe someone is using the app in a harmful, abusive, or misleading way.
Third-party data
Sighting data sourced from eBird and iNaturalist is subject to the terms and policies of those services.
Wild Map Tracker does not control those third-party records and is not responsible for their accuracy, completeness, or timeliness.
Disclaimers
Wild Map Tracker is provided as-is, without guarantees that the app will always be available, error-free, or perfectly accurate.
We are not responsible for decisions you make based on sighting data, including travel plans or field visits to a location.
Wildlife encounters are inherently unpredictable. If you choose to go into the field, you do so at your own risk and assume responsibility for your safety and decisions.
Changes to terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will note the new revision date at the top of this page.
